Sushi 101 - A Guest's Perspective of a Special Evening
Sep 10, 2010 at 0:02 Guess what (big smile on my face and doing a happy dance)?! I was invited to La Fuji Mama’s Sushi 101 Foodbuzz Dinner. This was my first food-blogging dinner to attend as a guest! I’ve been wanting to tell you all about it! And I will in just a minute, but first I need to send out a HUGE thank you and hug to Rachael from La Fuji Mama for being kind enough to invite me. She and I have a shared adoration for all things Japanese. Especially SUSHI!
The evening was amazing! Talk about a "Field of Dreams". If you build it they will come, indeed! For me, if you build sushi I will be there!! No questions asked. But this night was filled with so much more than sake and a sushi making lesson. Let me tell you that I met some of the warmest and most welcoming people I have ever encountered. One such person was Krista Erickson from the Zojirushi America Corporation. Wait until you see the rice cookers she provided for the dinner! And I met Martin Reed. His message about eating sustainable seafood is an important one! Be sure to visit him at I Love Blue Sea where he sells the largest selection of sustainable - and ONLY sustainable - seafood at the best prices!

If you have a chance be sure to visit La Fuji Mama to see more pictures, find out even more about the Sushi 101 dinner, and be introduced to everyone who participated in this amazing dinner. Don't forget to stop by to see Josie on her site Day Dreamer Desserts. Her dessert creations for the dinner were fabulous, and she shares her Sushi 101 story with you on her site. Sayounara!

What a wonderful video Mac! Thank you so much for coming. It was a pleasure to have a fellow lover of all things Japan and sushi (and a good friend!) at the dinner!

Wow, Mac. What a great video! I just LOVE listening to your voice; so crisp, clear, warm and enchanting.
Sounds like such a lovely evening, too. You're all making my mouth water, and it's only 9 AM!!! I need to see if I can find some of that sparking sake. Where would I get some???
